[CIVIL NX] Use of MCT Command Shell for Defining Composite Sections in the Construction Stage

Question

Is there a faster, simpler way to assign a composite section for construction stage property to multiple sections?

Answer

It can be done for multiple section using MCT command shell.  Kindly follow the steps as suggested below.

Step 1) Define Composite Section for Construction Stage for any one section

The purpose of this step is to simply help in generating the syntax of the mct.

Step 2) Go to MCT command shell and search for *CPOSECT4CS command and click on "Insert Data".

Step 3) Copy the auto-generated data for the first section, paste it below, and change the section ID to the required one.

Step 4) Repeat step 3 for all similar section.  Alternatively, you can also used excel to quickly generate this data using the basic formulae.  Once the relevant data is ready in the MCT command shell, click on "Run".

Next, navigate to the 'Composite Section for Construction Stage' and click on 'Update all H.' If you are not defining time-dependent material properties and are instead using the multiple modulus of elasticity feature in the section property, be sure to click on 'Update Long Term' as well.
