[CIVIL NX] Beam Section Property Changes

Question

What is the difference between the "Constant" and "Change with Tendon" options for beam section property changes in construction stage analysis control?

Answer

When the "Change with Tendon" option is checked in the construction stage analysis control data, the section properties are calculated considering the effect of tendons. In the case of post-tensioning, the net section with duct areas excluded is used before grouting, and the transformed section with duct areas included is used after grouting.

So basically, the overall stiffness of the section is recalculated, and the transformed section properties are computed based on the tendon area and modular ratio.

If the "Constant" option is checked in the construction stage analysis control data, the gross properties of the section are used for the calculations.
