Question
How can concrete dimensions be created in a drawing view generated using the '3D View' option?
Answer
The 3D view must be created using the '3D View' option, as shown below.
Consider that a 3D view has already been created, as shown below.
To create linear dimensions in this view, follow the steps given below:
- Click on the 'Infra Design' ribbon.
- From the drop-down menu, select the '2.5D Dimension' option.
- Click on 'Linear 2.5D Dimension'.
- In the command prompt bar, you will be asked to specify the distance criteria for display. Press the "D" key.
- Press the Enter key.
- Next, you will be prompted to specify the first extension line origin.
- Let's consider that we need to mark the dimension of the pier cap depth. First, click on the top left of the pier cap.
- Next, specify the second extension line origin at the bottom end of the pier cap.
- Specify the line location by placing the mouse at the desired position for the dimension display and making a left click.
- You will then be asked to input the slope angle. To skip this, press the Enter key.
- Press the Esc key to exit.
- The dimension will now be displayed as shown below.
Similarly, if you need to create an aligned dimension in a 3D view, use the 'Aligned 2.5D Dimension' option. It can be accessed from Infra Design > 2.5D Dimension > Aligned 2.5D Dimension.
Then, follow steps 4 to 11 to create the aligned dimension. In the image shown below, the aligned dimension at the bottom of the pier cap is displayed.
This is the process of generating concrete dimensions in a drawing view created using the '3D View' option.
