When trying to generate drawing views using CAD ID, the error "Can not find the path to the template file" is displayed. How can this be resolved?

Some users may encounter the error message "Can not find the path to the template file" after generating drawing views in CIM and then running CAD ID. This issue usually occurs when the required template file is missing from the expected folder.
To resolve this, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Right-click on the CAD ID icon.
Step 2: From the drop-down menu, select the "Open File location" option.
You will be redirected to a folder similar to the following path:
C:\Users\Dell\AppData\Roaming\MIDAS\midas InfraDesign
Note: Here, the folder name 'Dell' refers to the system’s name.
Alternatively, you can open This PC or My Computer and directly enter the path above in the address bar. Make sure to replace 'Dell' with your computer’s actual name.
Once done, the relevant installation folder will be displayed.
Step 3: Open the Templates folder.
Step 4: Locate the file named mcad.mdwt and copy it using the Ctrl + C command.
Step 5: Open the folder mentioned in the error message:
C:\Users\Dell\Documents\midas InfraDesign\MIDAS\Templates
As mentioned earlier, replace 'Dell' with your actual system name.
Step 6: Paste the copied file mcad.mdwt into this location using Ctrl + V.
After completing these steps, run CAD ID again after generating drawings in CIM. The drawing views should now be generated correctly without any errors.
