[CAD ID] How to add rebar annotation to a view in CAD ID?

Question

How to add rebar annotation to a view in CAD ID?

Answer

When working in CAD Infra Design, adding details to the views generated from the CIM model is one of the essential steps in the CIM environment. This step is further simplified by provision of a quick annotation command.

Once a drawing view is generated in CAD ID from the CIM model, follow the steps below to provide a rebar label to the members of the respective view.

Step 1 - In the CAD Infra Design interface click on INFRA-DESIGN (I)

Now, from the sub functions choose the annotation tab and in the sub tab choose single annotation.

Step 2 - In the annotation sub function click on Single Annotation

The command bar at the bottom of the interface displays a message as Object Select and the cursor changes from the pick-box to hollow normal box as shown in the images below

Now, use the above icon and choose the rebar shape from the drawing view as shown below

Step 3 - Use the object select icon and click on the rebar shape

Upon selection the rebar shape gets highlighted in blue as shown below

The command bar now displays the message Specify Insert point, pick the correct location from the highlighted rebar shape. This shall be the reference of the leader line of the label.

Choose the location anywhere near the cross section shape.

Step 4 - Click on the rebar shape and move the cursor at the outer side of the section

Now, at a suitable place in the model space use the cursor to place the label. In this step the command bar displays the message as select BASE Point as shown below.

Step 5 - Use the cursor and click in the model space to display the rebar annotation.

Above image displays the default rebar annotation, such as the 0.200 being the rebar spacing, T1 being the rebar name101 being the total number of rebars and Y20 being the diameter of the rebar respectively.

The rebar annotation to a view in CAD ID is complete.
