How to customize an existing rebar annotation in CIM?
Answer
In CAD Infra Design, rebar annotations can be customized according to the users requirement. This can be achieved through the rebar annotation style function.
To activate this function follow the steps in the CAD ID interface as shown below.
Step 1 - In the CAD ID interface ribbons click INFRA-DESIGN
Now, from the sub functions choose Style tab and in the sub tab choose Rebar Annotation Style.
Step 2 - In the Style sub function click on Rebar Annotation Style
The Rebar Annotation Style window appears on the screen
Here, the text and properties of the members for the annotation display can be modified. A preview of the output is available under the Preview Pane.
In the Field pane, the name and abbreviations for the property of the members are available to choose.
In the Text pane, the selected fields appear and the formatting such as the text font, size and color can be modified. The text can be added in 3 parts, Text 1, Text 2, Text 3, as shown in the image below.
In the Line Type Rebar, properties of the display of leader such as the leader head, color and scale are available as shown in the image below.
In the Point Type Rebar, properties of the display of leader such as the leader head, color and scale are available as shown in the image below.
In the Color and Layer, options to choose the color of the leader and selecting the respective layer are available as shown in the image below.
To create a custom rebar annotation, use the options shown above. An example is highlighted in the steps below.
Step 3 - In the Text 1 window pane, remove the existing abbreviations (with keyboard backspace) and choose the Fields as Preview(PRV), and Nominal Diameter(D) as shown in the image below. Use (keyboard spacebar for providing space between respective abbreviations. Output should be [PRV] "D"[D]
Step 4 - In the Text 2, remove the existing abbreviations and choose the Fields as Name(N) with prefix text as Rebar Name as shown in the image below. Outputs should be Rebar Name -[N]
Step 5 - In the Text 3, remove the existing abbreviations and choose the Fields as Input Spacing(IS) with prefix text as Equal Spacing as shown in the image below. Outputs should be Equal Spacing - [IS]m
Step 6 - Click OK to close the command.
The final output of a default rebar annotation and the customized rebar annotation are shown below.
