Question
How can we change the units of concrete dimensions in drawings generated in CAD ID?
Answer
When generating drawings from the CIM Model, users may need to adjust the unit system for concrete dimensions based on project requirements. In the example shown below, the concrete dimensions are displayed in metres, but you may want to convert them to millimetres in CAD ID drawings.
Here’s how you can do it:
Step 1: Open the CIM Model file.
Step 2: Navigate to the Base Ribbon.
Step 3: Click on Global Option.
Step 4: Under the Unit System (Other) section, locate the CAD ID Interface option.
From the dropdown, select N-mm.

Alternatively, you can choose kg-mm, ton-mm, or kN-mm, as all these options will display dimensions in millimetres in CAD ID.
Step 6: Go to the Application Ribbon.
Step 7: Select CAD ID.
Step 8: From the dropdown, click Update.
Step 9: In the CAD ID interface, a dialog box will appear. Click Yes.
Step 10: Go to the INFRA-DESIGN(I) tab.
Step 11: From the dropdown, select Update View All.
You will now see that the concrete dimensions in the drawing are displayed in millimetres.
By following this approach, you can convert the concrete dimension units to match the requirements of your project.
